Life in Alaska as a young boy allowed me to live my imagination. I would play for hours every day outside a lot of times by myself, planning my hunts for bears and wolves that lurked just along the tree line. I look back now and wonder how I was never lost or injured as a kid. But the one time I had a “When animals attack moment” was on this horse in this picture above. His name was Jingo and he was an asshole, he bit me on the cheek when I was about 5 and had to get stitches. That image will always be in my head, large teeth with lips curled back and bam!!! The sharp burning sensation and panic hit me! I crawled out of the pen after saving my 3-year-old sister Nicole just seconds before the attack. So when I need to tap into the emotions of fear or survival mode, this is one moment I turn to!
